Facebook

I’ve been hesitant to do this, We did the “Myspace” thing and it faded out…then we started a Twitter page and it was a flash in the pan thing…then I started this blog and was maintaining it, and now people are asking for a Facebook page.  So, to keep with the times and make us as easy to access as possible, here it is.  http://www.facebook.com/pages/The-Double-Q/315552555898

I think you’ll have to be signed in to FACEBOOK to view it though.  I’m not sure about that.  However we would love to have you guys follow us along on Facebook.

On to some other news…we’re still waiting on the Bon Jovi tickets, hopefully we can make that happen for you.  Sometimes when shows are in Nashville or St.Louis and they’re BIG shows, getting access to tickets to give away to you is very hard.  Especially if they think the show will sell out.  But I’ll keep begging.

Holiday World and Splashin’ Safari has sent us more tickets to start giving away.  That will be happening in the next month or so.  As soon as they get ready to open, we’ll start our ticket giveaways.

Finally, What would make the Double Q a better listening experience for you?  What is it we/I could do to make you enjoy the Double Q more?  Special feature shows?  More Requests?  Less/More talk?  Local Sports programming?  How about our morning show?  Less/more talk.  More comedy bits or clips?  We really want you to feel like the Double Q is YOUR station.  Since the beginning we have made a great effort to not interrupt the music.  To let the music define the radio station.  But we are always looking to please as many listeners as possible and would like for you to feel like you can respond to us whenever you feel like you need to.  Without you the listeners and consumers who frequent our advertisers, the Double Q wouldn’t exsist.  So thank you for being a part of it thus far and we hope to make 2010 our biggest and best year ever!  Feel free to comment or if you prefer you can e-mail me directly at Nick@wqqr.com.  Thank you again and see you on Facebook!!!!

Sincerely,

Nick Black

  1. I’ve been saying it for years … y’all should absolutely be available online for listening!! It would open up an entire new group of listeners for you … especially with the abilities to tie it in with FB, online promotions, etc!! :)

    • Kim,

We would love to do that, but the licensing rights ASCAP, BMI, etc are very expensive. We would have to find a way to offset the cost, and it’s a significant one. Then…We would have to get the rights for all the syndicated shows too “Flashback, Chop Shop etc” or go offline when they air. It’s not necessarily off the table yet, just havent found a way to do it we can live with.
